Vessel-Check BENEFITS

Benefits for Authorities

Reduced risk of an invasive aquatic species

The AIS data feed provides arrival information and automates ballast water and biofouling risk assessments producing advanced intelligence across your sites and facilitates, for efficient and secure cross-border communications.

Save time

Vessel-Check eliminates duplication with one central easy to access cloud database, coupled with automated nominations via an AIS data feed.

Save money & optimise resources

Easily see a vessels biosecurity risk and documentation across risk metrics aligned with IMO guidelines. Vessel-Check can help save fuel & reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as biofouling can contribute up to 9% of global shipping greenhouse gas emissions.

User friendly interface & centralised storage

The clear and simple interface ensures users can easily navigate around the portal, efficiently completing tasks, accessing data and seeing results – anywhere, anytime via our secure cloud platform.

Business intelligence

Sophisticated analytics for budgeting and response planning. Embedded in the portal and built using Microsoft’s Power-BI delivering action-able dashboards, allows for customisation and can be downloaded for further data manipulation.

Flagged vessels

Manage and securely share information with other authorities for a comprehensive and consistent approach to vessel biosecurity management.

Good governance

Based on the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) guidelines and regulations, supported by authorities, Vessel-Check helps achieve United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through consistent & repeatable assessments.

Response planning

Leverage the powerful dispersal predictor and impact mitigation planning tools to aid in incursion responses.

API integration

Vessel-Check can seamlessly integrate with existing systems through available APIs to provide improved biosecurity awareness for your jurisdiction.

Testimonials

As a resource manager operating in Australian waters, we have regulatory commitments and responsibility for managing our Invasive Marine Species (IMS) risk across our marine title and within our operational areas. We utilise the Vessel-Check tool as it provides advanced risk assessments for all operational vessels. The system records and retains all compliance information and delivers substantial efficiency benefits for us and our vessel subcontractors.

It is an offence under NSW legislation to bring into or release a non-native aquatic species into NSW waters. Vessel operators are encouraged to implement effective management practices to prevent the introduction and spread of aquatic pests.

Vessel-Check is designed to guide a vessel’s ongoing management of vessel biofouling, the portal generates a risk assessment that reflects the likelihood of the vessel’s management practices being sufficient to mitigate the transfer of a non-native aquatic species into NSW waters. Are you an authority responsible
for aquatic biosecurity?

Biosecurity regulators, resource managers and port authorities are implementing Vessel-Check to improve efficiencies and have clear visibility across their operations.

Authorities have been a key contributor to the design and function of Vessel-Check, prioritising pre-border awareness and automatic risk assessments based on IMO guidelines. The AIS nomination data is a fundamental component of the system and is “called” 4 times a day, optimising data efficiency, fitness for purpose and costs. Each port nomination with its own risk calculation and specific information is “sand-boxed” and retained in the cloud database. The customisable Power-BI reporting pages deliver succinct visual dashboards and allow for data extraction. Whether you are a regulatory agency, oil and gas company or port authority contact us for a demonstration and free trial period to better manage your aquatic biosecurity responsibilities.
